Gi and No Gi Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art based on ground fighting and submission holds. BJJ focuses on the skill of controlling an opponent on the ground and gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or choke holds. Jiu Jitsu can be performed in a Gi (Kimono) or in No Gi attire (rash guards, shorts and/or spats). RKC offers classes in both disciplines.

Wrestling

Wrestling is the sport or activity of grappling with an opponent and trying to throw or hold them down on the ground, typically according to a code of rules. There are a variety of wrestling styles that exist within the sport itself however RKC focuses on folk and free style wrestling.

Law Enforcement Defense Tactics

This program is a system of controlled defensive and offensive body movements used by police officers to respond to a subject’s aggression or resistance. Techniques will be based on a combination of grappling, striking, and take downs.

Self Defense

Self Defense is the use of reasonable force to protect oneself or members of your family from bodily harm due to the attack of an aggressor. Although disciplines such as Jiu Jitsu, judo, boxing, and MMA will aid in your self defense ability, some of the technique taught in these disciplines are not ideal for a real life situation where you may have to defend yourself. RKC will focus on a mixture of striking, grappling, take downs, and violent evasive techniques that won’t put you at a disadvantage and keep you safe from an attacker.
